Using out-of-date apps or templates and plug-ins for them, or using simple passwords is always a risk for your Internet sites as these things make it easier hack them. Things will get even worse if you have a lot of Internet sites because all of them will be vulnerable if an attacker gets control of just one of them. For this reason we have created JailHost - an advanced level security option which isolates Internet sites from each other. In case a site gets compromised, the attacker will not be able to find or gain access to any other content outside the website folder, so all other Internet sites inside the account will be protected and will be intact. The JailHost option doesn't substitute doing regular script updates or using complex passwords, but it will minimize any damage to your Internet sites significantly, so you'll need to fix only one website not all of them.
JailHost in Shared Hosting
If you host your Internet sites within a shared hosting account from our firm, you will be able to protect them by using the JailHost feature with just a couple of clicks inside your Hepsia Control Panel. The option is available with all plans and can be activated for every folder since the domains and subdomains in Hepsia have individual folders, so files for different websites don't get mixed up like it usually happens with other Control Panels. We have not activated JailHost by default because you could use scripts which require access to folders outside the primary website folder and this option could interfere with their proper operation, but protecting all other folders is simple and easy. If a secured website gets hacked for whatever reason, we'll be able to recover it without delay as we will have multiple daily backup copies of your entire account and you will even be able to browse the available backups using Hepsia.
JailHost in Semi-dedicated Servers
JailHost comes with all of our semi-dedicated server plans and you'll be able to activate it with a couple of clicks. It is not enabled by default since we do not want to prevent some scripts which require to gain access to multiple folders in your account from functioning properly. You could activate JailHost for all other websites that you have from the Hepsia Control Panel and you can do this quickly even if you don't have any previous experience. What enables us to offer JailHost is the way in which Hepsia manages multiple domains - they all have individual folders which can be "locked". In contrast, other widespread Control Panels feature add-on domains and their content is stored in the main domain folder, so in case a single site is hacked, the entire account is hacked, which isn't the case with Hepsia. If an Internet site gets damaged despite your efforts, we shall be able to recover it the way it was almost instantly as we'll keep several daily backup copies of the whole account.
