Dot NAME Domain Names

Established in 2001, the .NAME generic domain extension is the only one planned for personal websites only. These domains can be personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other labels people are known by. Initially, only third-level registrations were permitted, so if you wanted to reserve john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already purchased 3rd-level domains remained online.

Through our firm, you can obtain your dot NAME domain for a time interval between one and ten years. You will be able to update the WHOIS info, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our firm if you get its EPP transfer authorization key from the present domain service provider and we will renew it once the transfer has been completed. There are no specific regulations on who can acquire a dot NAME domain, but in order to keep the idea behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry organization may check who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration may be challenged.
